Ostrach Consulting also provides aquaculture services. Dr. Ostrach has developed aquaculture systems for breeding, growth maintenance and testing of a variety of organisms ranging from phytoplankton through fish species.
Ostrach consulting provides research and development services to aid in the use of green technology to produce high protein clean sources of fish, crayfish and shrimp.
We design and develop environmentally balanced fish/crop production systems to aid farms in maximizing water use and diversification of products.
Dr. Ostrach has developed methods to use dairy waste water in the production of plants and fish. This provides a green solution for dairy waste water and produces clean high protein food for human or animal consumption.
Dr. Ostrach has extensive experience in designing hatchery systems and over 40 years of experience in spawning difficult species including pure-strain domestic striped bass (Morone saxatilis). Dr. Ostrach owned and maintained the only pure strain F-3 generation striped bass broodstock created from San Francisco Estuary fish for 15 years. These striped bass were used for environmental toxicology and developmental studies, human eye retinal research and aquaculture . We are in the process of encouraging and assisting in pure strain striped bass production to create a clean uncontaminated source of fish for human consumption.
We provide assistance in the spawning of striped bass and various species of pond fish and assist with production and sales.
We provide spawning, production, system design and management services for a variety of fish, crayfish and shrimp and assist in private pond design and stocking.
